Bloomin' Marvelous for Fab Friday

Hey there, stampers! Thanks for stopping by today! It is time once again for a new Fab Friday challenge. We have a pretty color combination that is perfect for springtime! Check it out...

Now, I will admit that I am not the biggest fan of Pink Pirouette. I have hardly ever used it, but I do think it is pretty in this combination and I don't think any of our other pinks would have worked as well. Calypso Coral is a color that had to grow on me, but now that I have used it for almost two years, I really like it and will miss it when it retires with the current catalog. :-( Here is my card using these pretty colors. I hope you like it!

Stampin' Up Supplies:
Stamps: Bloomin' Marvelous
Paper: Sahara Sand, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Big Shot, Fancy Fan EF, Adorning Accents Edgelits, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8" Circle punch, Bitty Butterfly punch, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Basic Pearls, dimensionals

I hope you can see the Pink Pirouette butterflies on my card. It is such a light shade of pink that my camera had a hard time picking it up. We made a simpler version of this card at a recent class and I just stepped it up a bit for the challenge. The only additions were the Adorning Accents Edgelits and all of the pearls. If you are looking for a way to dress up a card, our pearls are a wonderful and inexpensive way to do just that! I think this would make a great springtime wedding card and this sentiment from the Sale-a-Bration set, Bloomin' Marvelous, is perfect for a wedding.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to swing on over to Fab Friday and play along with us! You have almost two weeks to enter your creation. This challenge closes on March 28th. Also, be sure to visit Justin Krieger's blog to welcome him as the newest member of our design team. Welcome aboard, Justin! Pin It

Pinwheel Birthday for Fab Friday!

Hi stamping friends! It is Friday once again and time for a new challenge at Fab Friday! This time we have a fun sketch. I just love sketch challenges! They take so much of the guess work out of card designing for me. Here is the sketch...

I think this one has lots of possibilities! I love a great, versatile sketch! Here is my take on it. I just love the pinwheel sizzlit. So fun!

Stampin' Up Supplies:
Stamps: Wishes Your Way
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Pacific, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Sprinkles and Sunshine DSP
Ink: Pacific Point
Accessories: Big Shot, Pinwheel Sizzlit, Clouds EF, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, brights brads, Lucky Limeade baker's twine

I originally had a Marina Mist background on this card and decided to switch it to Pacific Point to brighten it up. I think I preferred the Marina Mist, but at that point, I had already glued everything down. Oh well! I still think it is a cute card and perfect for a child's birthday. Kids love super bright colors, right?!?

OK, now it's your turn. Hop on over to Fab Friday and play along with us! I can't wait to see what you create! Pin It

Fab Hello

It's Friday and time for a new Fab Friday challenge! Woo hoo! We have a pretty color challenge this time. The colors are all from the Subtles collection and are perfect for a springy card!

My card is inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest a while back.  (There is a link to the card below in my supply list). I wanted to make a card using some new products from the Spring and Sale-a-Bration catalogs and I thought this fun layout would be perfect.

Stampin' Up Supplies:
Stamps: Distressed Dots, Pretty Petites (SAB), Papillon Potpourri
Paper: Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Ink: Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Curly Label punch, Petite Curly Label punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Paper Piercing Tool, Perfect Plum taffeta ribbon, Bitty Buttons, basic pearls, white baker's twine
Inspired by: this card made by Michelle Le Breton

For this being one of my favorite color combos ever (any purple, green, and blue really), I struggled with this card. I just couldn't get all of the elements to come together the way I wanted them to. Does that happen to everyone or just me? It sure can be frustrating, but I am happy with this final product, so I guess it was worth the trouble. :) I'm not 100% sure, but this card might make the cut as one of the designs for my classes coming up later this month.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to swing by Fab Friday and play along. The challenge closes on February 28th. I hope you will play along! Pin It

January Class Cards (Part 3)

Hello again! Here is my final post with my January cards. (I did reserve one card to share at a later date.) This one is a fun birthday card using the Sycamore Street DSP and the Patterned Occasions stamp set (both available for free through Sale-a-Bration) and the Hearts a Flutter framelites. It is a CASE of a card made by Krista Fenton. I try not to CASE much any more, but when I see a card that is as cute as this one, I can't help myself. :)

Stampin' Up Supplies:
Stamps: Patterned Occasions (SAB set)
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party, Sycamore Street DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfruit markers
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Hearts a Flutter framelits, white baker's twine
Inspiration: this card made by Krista Fenton

Sorry for the short post! I hope you enjoyed my class cards! Check back on Friday for the latest Fab Friday challenge. It's a color challenge this time and I picked the colors. :)

January Class Cards (Part 2)

I know, I know... I said that I would post a project from my most recent class each day until they were all posted. Oops! We had a semi-busy weekend and I didn't get a chance to photograph them until today. The good news is that I only have one more to show you after this post (I am saving one to share later) and I'm going to schedule its post for tomorrow. :)

If you are in need of some last minute valentine treats, look no further than the Petal Cone die! I used it to make these adorable mini take out boxes. Take a look!

Stampin' Up Supplies:
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Real Red, More Amore DSP, Champagne Glimmer Paper, Red Glimmer Paper, Very Vanilla
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: Big Shot, Petal Cone die, Stampin' Trimmer, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Large Heart punch, Bitty Banners framelits, sticky strip, glue dots

I gave you a top view because the side view wasn't much to look at. How cute are these little tags? I made them with the Champagne glimmer paper (which is still available- yay!) cut with the scalloped heart framelit from the Hearts a Flutter framelit collection and the Red glimmer paper punched with the large heart punch. Don't they layer nicely? The little banner was cut with the Bitty Banners Framelits and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, which works beautifully with the framelits. I got the idea for these treats from Dawn Olchefske's blog. She even has a video posted on exactly how to make these fun little boxes.

We also made a Valentine's Day card at my class.

Here is another version on the same card that could be used as an anniversary card or just a love card, rather than a valentine.

Stampin' Up Supplies:
Stamps: Delightful Dozen, Seasonal Sayings, Hearts a Flutter
Paper: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Red Glimmer
Ink: Black Stazon, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black marker, Cherry Cobbler marker
Accessories: Big Shot, Chevron EF, 1 1/4" square punch, Postage Stamp punch, Cherry Cobbler baker's twine

Hope you liked these projects for Valentine's day. Check back tomorrow to see the last project (I mean it this time). ;-) Pin It

January Class Cards (Part 1)

Hello! I promised to share the cards we made at my classes last Friday and it has taken a week, but I am finally getting it done beginning today. My plan is to post one each day until they are all posted.

Here is the first one...

Stampin' Up Supplies Used:
Stamps: Just Thinking
Paper: Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Very Vanilla
Ink: Basic Gray
Accessories: Big Shot, Honeycomb EF, Window Frames framelits, Festive Paper-Piercing Pack, Large Rhinestones, Basic Gray satin ribbon (retired)

I really liked the way this card turned out. I have to give credit to my sister, Marcy, who suggested this color combination. I think it works so well and is one of my favorite color combinations.

I apologize for the short post, but my daughter had a snow day from preschool today and we are getting ready to play some games. Enjoy the rest of your day! :) Pin It

Fab Pinwheel

Wow! It's been two weeks since I posted once again. Thank goodness I am on the design team at Fab Friday! It keeps me stamping and posting semi-regularly. I will have some new cards to post soon. I have classes happening today and will share the projects we are making over the next few days.

Mindy has a sketch challenge for us this time. I usually love a good sketch and this one is great, but for whatever reason, I struggled making this card. (Could it be because I procrastinated and worked on it up to the last minute? Nah!) ;-)

Anyway, here is the awesome sketch...

And here is my take on it...

Stampin' Up Supplies Used:
Stamps: Wishes Your Way, Tiny Tags
Paper: Primrose Petals, Pool Party, Raspberry Ripple, Very Vanilla, Watercolor, More Amore DSP
Ink: Pool Party, Basic Black marker
Accessories: Big Shot, Clouds EF, Pinwheel Sizzlet, Small Heart punch, Owl punch, Ribbon Trim Border punch, Aquapainter, small silver brad

I decided to go with a valentine again. I have a lot of this pretty DSP to use and I thought the pinwheel looked adorable with the hearts design in the background. I used lots of new products for this card- the pinwheel sizzlet die (so fun!), the Clouds embossing folder, and the More Amore DSP. I think they all work wonderfully together.

Can you see the detail on the background behind the pinwheel? I very, very lightly spread some Pool Party ink on the sky part of the background (which is watercolor paper embossed with the cloud EF) using an Aquapainter. I wanted to make the clouds pop a little bit more. Also, for the sentiment, I inked up the "Blowing Wishes Your Way" sentiment with a Basic Black marker and omitted the word "wishes" then I stamped the "love" from Tiny Tags and punched it out with the small heart punch to turn this into a valentine. I cannot take credit for this idea. I saw it on Pinterest, but I don't think I pinned it. If it is your idea, please leave me a comment so that I can give proper credit.

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to pop on over to Fab Friday and play along with us!

Fab Valentine

It's Friday and you know what that means- a new challenge at Fab Friday! We have a color challenge this time and it is perfect for Valentine's Day (and other occasions too). I hope you will play along with us!

Here is my project using these pretty colors. This card came together so quickly and easily that it shocked me. I sometimes struggle with color challenges, and I haven't done much stamping lately. Plus, my mojo has been pretty hit or miss, but I was really happy with the results for this one. :)

Stampin' Up Supplies Used:
Stamps: Hearts a Flutter, Petite Pairs
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Big Shot, Hearts a Flutter framelits, Adorning Accents folders, Pool Party ribbon

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to swing by Fab Friday and play along.
