No Peeking for Fab Friday!

Wow! It is time again for another Fab Friday challenge. These two weeks seem to pass so quickly! Mindy has a great, versatile sketch this time. I would like to go back and play with this sketch some more when I have a little bit more time. I have had a very busy week and didn't get to really play with this challenge as much as I hoped I would. I decided to go with a Christmas card using the adorable "No Peeking" set for this sketch. I hadn't inked up the cute little penguin and I thought that he would work well.

Dress Up Catalog CASE

Hello stampers! It is a busy, busy week so this is a going to be a quick post. I made this card a couple of weeks ago for a birthday party for one of my daughter's friends. We are really working the little girl birthday party circuit lately. I (amazingly) had the foresight to make an extra copy of this card for another party coming up in a few weeks. My girly girl has had her eye on this set (Dress Up) since the annual catalog came out and I finally broke down and got it for her during the recent stamp sale. My inspiration for this card came from the catalog. There is a sample card made with this set and I just changed it up a bit to make it my own. I hope you like it!

Fab Thanksgiving

Hi stampers! Well, another two weeks have passed without me posting a single card. :-/ I will try to do better. I have finished all of my stamping events for the year, so I should have more "fun stamping" time over the next few weeks and will hopefully have more cards to post soon.

Believe it or not, it is already time for another fun Fab Friday challenge. Mindy has a color challenge for us this time. I think these colors are really pretty together and just scream fall to me. What do you think?

 

I made a Thanksgiving card for this challenge. I have to admit that I did have a little bit of trouble with this color combination at first. I wasn't sure how to incorporate the Midnight Muse, so I decided to use it the same way that I would use black or any other dark neutral in a card. Here is my interpretation of the colors using sketch #59 from Freshly Made Sketches. I hope you like it.

Fab 3D Ornament

Hey there, stampers! I can't believe that it has been two weeks since my last post! Thank goodness I am on the design team at Fab Friday, so that I at least have to post every two weeks. I have periods where I stamp a lot and other times where it just doesn't happen. Such is life, I guess...

Anyway, Mindy has a great sketch for us this time! I think this sketch has lots of possibility. I know that you will all do great things with it.

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer

Ink: Cherry Cobbler

Accessories: Big Shot, Lacy Brocade EF, 3" Circle Die, Holiday Ornament framelits, Simply Scored, Paper-Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Festive Paper-Piercing Pack, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding

 

I just love these ornaments and the champagne glimmer paper. I also really love this color combination for Christmas. I have been seeing lots of these 3D ornaments and decided to give them a try. They are really easy to make. I stamped three ornaments and cut them out using the coordinating framelits and the Big Shot. I then scored all three down the middle vertically using the Simply Scored tool. Then I attached them together using glue dots being careful to line up the edges. For the ribbon border around the circle die cut, I attached glue dots along the edge of the back of the circle (probably a glue dot every 1/2") and then just looped the ribbon over to form ruffles and the glue dots held everything in place. This card could probably still be mailed as long as you flattened the ornament before putting it into the envelope.

TGI... Fab Friday

As if Fridays weren't fab enough... it's time for another challenge at Fab Friday! Mindy has a color challenge for us this week. I have to admit, I struggled with this one. I love these three colors, but I had a hard time coming up with a good way to use them together, but what good is a challenge that doesn't challenge us and make us stretch our creativity a little, right? I encourage you to play along with us this week and see how you can grow creatively.

This was my take on these colors. I was inspired by a sketch that I found on Pinterest that was originally posted on the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge blog. It is a fun and versatile sketch.

All in all, this is a very simple project, but I like the way it turned out. I'm not sure what is up with my camera lately, but I really did use Summer Starfruit (even though it looks more like Daffodil Delight in the picture).
