Mindy has a sketch challenge for us this time. I usually love a good sketch and this one is great, but for whatever reason, I struggled making this card. (Could it be because I procrastinated and worked on it up to the last minute? Nah!) ;-)
Anyway, here is the awesome sketch...
And here is my take on it...
Stampin' Up Supplies Used:
Stamps: Wishes Your Way, Tiny Tags
Paper: Primrose Petals, Pool Party, Raspberry Ripple, Very Vanilla, Watercolor, More Amore DSP
Ink: Pool Party, Basic Black marker
Accessories: Big Shot, Clouds EF, Pinwheel Sizzlet, Small Heart punch, Owl punch, Ribbon Trim Border punch, Aquapainter, small silver brad
I decided to go with a valentine again. I have a lot of this pretty DSP to use and I thought the pinwheel looked adorable with the hearts design in the background. I used lots of new products for this card- the pinwheel sizzlet die (so fun!), the Clouds embossing folder, and the More Amore DSP. I think they all work wonderfully together.
Can you see the detail on the background behind the pinwheel? I very, very lightly spread some Pool Party ink on the sky part of the background (which is watercolor paper embossed with the cloud EF) using an Aquapainter. I wanted to make the clouds pop a little bit more. Also, for the sentiment, I inked up the "Blowing Wishes Your Way" sentiment with a Basic Black marker and omitted the word "wishes" then I stamped the "love" from Tiny Tags and punched it out with the small heart punch to turn this into a valentine. I cannot take credit for this idea. I saw it on Pinterest, but I don't think I pinned it. If it is your idea, please leave me a comment so that I can give proper credit.
Thanks for stopping by, be sure to pop on over to Fab Friday and play along with us!

Marla, your background paper behind the pinwheel is amazing! I love it! This is a really sweet card.
What a winner, Marla, last minute or not! I love it! Your inking of the clouds is a perfect touch, and the way you did the sentiment is adorable. This will surely make someone smile!
